We're Growing! New Class & Instructor at Richmond Birth and Baby
It’s been a little while since we shared an update about the classes we offer here at Richmond Birth and Baby—and with a brand-new class and instructor joining us, we thought now would be the perfect time!
Are You Preparing to Become a Parent?
Have you ever wished you could sit down with someone and just ask all your questions—from "What do I actually do with a newborn?" to "How do I make all these big decisions for another human being?" You're not alone. Becoming a parent is exciting... and overwhelming.
That’s where we come in.
While we don’t claim to have all the answers, our goal is to walk alongside you—to help you build the confidence you need and remind you: you’ve got this.
Here’s a Look at the Classes We Offer
Baby Basics
One of our most popular (and fun!) classes. You'll get hands-on practice with baby dolls and learn everything from diaper changes to feeding tips and what to expect in those first few weeks at home.
Childbirth Education
Perfect for first-time expectant parents. We cover what’s happening in your body during labor and offer practical advice for both birthing parents and support partners—so everyone feels informed and empowered.
Grandparents Class
Babies are still babies—but a lot has changed over the years! This class helps new grandparents get up to speed on current best practices and offers tips on how to support new parents in a meaningful, up-to-date way.
Lactation Class
Breastfeeding is natural—but that doesn’t mean it’s always easy. This class provides a solid foundation for your breastfeeding journey, with realistic tips and expert advice to set you up for success.
NEW! The 4th Trimester: Postpartum Guidance
First class begins September 30We’re so excited to introduce this brand-new offering focused on the postpartum period. Learn how to balance the practical needs of a newborn with the emotional, physical, and mental healing that comes after birth. Partners will also learn how to create a supportive, healing environment at home. This class is all about slowing down and honoring the vital mother-baby connection.

I’ve tried a few different types of cat litter box over the years, and honestly, it makes a huge difference depending on your cat’s habits and your cleaning routine. Covered boxes help control odor, but some cats don’t like the enclosed space. I personally switched to an open-top cat litter box with high sides to prevent scattering, and it’s been much easier to clean. Also, using clumping litter and scooping daily keeps things fresh. If you’re dealing with odor issues, try adding a carbon filter or switching to a natural litter like pine or walnut.
