Meet Danielle

- Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, RN -

Danielle Phillips-Skiba is from Buffalo, NY.  Her doula journey began when her husband joined the Army and they traveled across the country. She hadn’t heard the term, “doula,” but she spent countless weeks and months providing support to fellow military families who were pregnant/had a new baby.

Upon arriving to Virginia, Danielle was pregnant with her 3rd baby. For her, this delivery was her first natural childbirth. Around this same time, she learned what a doula was, and knew this was her calling.

Certified as a birth doula through DONA International, Danielle prides herself in keeping up to date on current evidence-based practices related to low intervention birthing. It is Danielle’s philosophy to support you and your family in welcoming your new addition, in a manner that caters to your family’s specific needs. Danielle has over 15 years of experience as a caregiver, which backs her approach to providing wholesome doula care.

Additionally, Danielle has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Old Dominion University and works as a registered nurse at local hospitals. She continues to pursue her education through various workshops and continuing education classes. Danielle spends her free time with her husband and four kids baking and reading or outdoors, hiking, camping and fishing.
