Originally from Los Angeles, Amy lived in Oregon for five years before landing in Richmond in 2014. In her pre-doula life, Amy was a long-time student and pre-school educator. When she was pregnant with her first child, Amy watched the documentary 'The Business of Being Born', and turned her love of learning toward all things birthy. Amy had doula support for both of her births, and realized that she wanted to bring this invaluable gift to other families. Amy attended a local ToLabor doula training in 2017, and completed her certification in 2022. Amy has additional training in Spinning Babies, Hypnobirthing & HypnoBabies, Acupressure, TENS units, Aromatherapy, Rebozo, and Perinatal Loss. She has worked in every hospital and birth center in Richmond, and has relationships with many local providers. She has experience with VBAC, IVF birth, inductions, cesarean birth, and home birth. Amy joined Richmond Birth & Baby close to the company's beginning in 2018, and brings her knowledge and experience to our families when she teaches some of our classes!

Amy has a Masters degree in Early Intervention, and she speaks fluent Spanish.
